Discovering the Magic of Mirakulum- The Best Family Day Trip in Czechia

France may have Disneyland, but Czechia has Mirakulum—and honestly, who needs Mickey when you’ve got medieval castles, underground tunnels, and goats you can pet? 😄 If you’re planning a family trip through the Czech Republic, Mirakulum Amusement Park in Milovice is a must-visit destination. Just an hour from Prague, this unique theme park is packed with outdoor adventures, creative play zones, and unforgettable experiences for kids of all ages.

Why Visit Mirakulum with Kids?

From the moment we stepped through the gates, Mirakulum felt like a dream come true for our children. The park is a sprawling, beautifully designed space where nature meets creativity. Unlike traditional amusement parks, Mirakulum emphasizes active play, discovery, and imagination—perfect for curious minds and energetic feet.

Mirakulum isn’t just a park—it’s an experience. It encourages kids to be active, creative, and brave. As parents, we loved seeing our children so engaged and joyful. It’s a place where screens are forgotten, and real-world adventures take center stage. And it doesn’t matter if your kids are 3 or 13—there’s truly something for everyone.

What We Loved Most

1. Wooden Castles

The centerpiece of the park is a massive wooden fortress with towers, tunnels, rope bridges, and secret passages. Kids can explore it from bottom to top—and when I saw them crawling through a wire tunnel high above the ground, I felt dizzy just watching! 😊 There’s also a colorful children’s village designed for younger kids, complete with a mirror room and gentler challenges.

2. The Mine, Rolly Toys Autodrome & Farm Zones

These areas are mainly designed for smaller children, but even our 8- and 10-year-olds loved it a lot.

  • The Mine features artificial rocks and an underground world with sound effects. Kids can help dwarfs transport precious stones using conveyor belts and hoppers.
  • Rolly Toys Autodrome is a traffic-themed playground with traffic lights, level crossings, a carwash, and even a petrol station.
  • The Farm may have plastic animals, but kids can still wash and groom a horse or try milking a cow—great fun and surprisingly educational!

3. Forest City, Rope Courses & Underground Tunnels

Set in a shady forest, this area offers zip lines, climbing nets, and obstacle courses—perfect for older kids looking for a challenge. Some trails even lead underground, so don’t forget a flashlight! These winding paths are thrilling for kids and just mysterious enough to keep adults intrigued too.

4. Giant Swings

These swings are so high they’ll give you butterflies in your stomach—definitely a favorite for thrill-seekers!

5. Water World

It’s not a swimming pool, but water is everywhere ( when it is warm and sunny, we were not that lucky) —fountains, streams, and splash zones. It’s one of the reasons we’ll be coming back, as the weather wasn’t good enough to enjoy it fully during our visit.

And that’s not all! There are jumping volcanoes, giant trampolines, labyrinths, a petting zoo, an educational herb garden, tubing tracks, a 13-meter-high lookout tower with slides, mysterious mazes, and a forest trail with animal sculptures. I could describe them all—but it’s better to experience them yourself!😉

Practical Tips for Visiting Mirakulum with Kids

  • Arrive early: The park is huge, and there’s so much to explore. A full day is ideal. There’s a large free parking area right next to the entrance.
  • Pack a picnic blanket, snacks, and water: There are plenty of food and drink stalls, but it’s also lovely to find a spot on the grass and enjoy a picnic in the sun.
  • Dress for adventure: Comfortable shoes and clothes are a must—your kids will be on the move all day. Don’t forget swimsuits, sunscreen, and a towel for the water world (changing rooms are available).
  • Bring a flashlight: It’s essential for exploring the underground tunnels and adds to the excitement.

Just a short walk from Mirakulum, there’s something a bit unexpected—Tankodrom Milovice, a former military area where visitors can see and even ride in real armored vehicles. We actually spotted it from the top of the lookout tower in the park, and it definitely caught our attention. If your kids are into tanks or military history, it’s a fun and unusual way to extend your day. There’s a little train that runs directly from the park to the tank area.
